Hey John, Thanks for adding details on your experience.
I did not look at CPU utilization, but rather on user interaction speed. For me, Edge Chromium clearly beats Safari in everything. Because of this, my use of Edge Chromium is increasing with each passing day.

I notice right away that Microsoft has implemented some good tools to import personal settings from either old Edge or even Chrome. I don’t use Firefox so I have no experience there. I don’t notice much in the way of performance of Edge Chromium vs Google Chrome. But Safari still is bar far more efficient with CPU resources than Edge or Chrome. Although I did see more spikes in CPU running Chrome than Edge. So I do think Microsoft has done more to improve resource management than Google has. I will use Edge Chromium on my Windows PC, but will stick with Safari for now, mostly for the integration with Apple’s ecosystem such as Keychain. Edge might offer more of this integration down the road so will monitor its progress.
